I recently had the awesome opportunity to stay at Tranquil Waterside Oasis, a stunning luxury lakefront cottage rental with hottub, for a “staff review.” This place is seriously huge—7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and tons of space for friends and family to hang out and have their own little corners. We couldn’t have asked for better weather either—fall gave us all the warmth we needed for the perfect weekend getaway.
Night One: Settling In & Sunset Perfection
As soon as we arrived, I called dibs on the Premier bedroom—and let me tell you, it was pure luxury. We settled in quickly and got the BBQ fired up off the sunroom. We grilled up some juicy steaks, fresh corn, and delicious sides we grabbed from Jerry Raders, then topped it off with the most amazing desserts from Culberts in Goderich (pro tip: don’t skip dessert!).
The real magic came when the sun started setting. The Lake Huron sunset was absolutely jaw-dropping—the water was like glass, totally still, and made for the most serene vibe. After that, we cozied up on the couch for a movie night. Perfect end to day one!
Day Two: Coffee, Exploring & Epic Game Night
The next morning started with coffee outside in the Adirondack chairs. There’s nothing like sipping a warm cup and breathing in that crisp fall air while gazing at the beautiful views. Thanks to the fully stocked kitchen, we whipped up a hearty breakfast, and the Coastal Coffee from CottageStays was just the icing on the cake—so good!
Later, we took the steps down to the beach (yes, there are quite a few, but it’s totally worth it once you’re there). After soaking up some sun, we decided to head into Goderich to grab a few more supplies and—of course—swing by Square Brew for some local craft beer. Such a cool spot!
That night, our group pulled together a potluck dinner and then headed to the basement for game night. There’s everything you could want down there—pool, ping pong, darts, and a bunch of card games. We were laughing and competing for hours.

We couldn’t leave without soaking in the hot tub, and even though it started drizzling, the covered tub made it feel even cozier. Honestly, it was the perfect way to end the weekend, with the rain softly falling while we were warm and relaxed in the tub.
My friends were blown away by how incredible the cottage was, and we all agreed that Tranquil Waterside Oasis was beyond what we had hoped for. If you’re looking for a spacious, luxurious, and peaceful spot for a fall getaway—this is it!
