WIFI | AC | Wood Fireplace | Hot Tub | 1 Dog Allowed
There's a moment when you pull up to Cottage by the Sea and realize this is exactly what a cottage is supposed to look like. The Chalet style. The trees. The quiet. Something in you exhales before you've even opened the car door. Farm fields behind you, trees at the front, and Lake Huron directly across the road — second-row private in a way most cottages only claim to be.
Step inside and it wraps around you. Think hipster coffee shop meets classic Canadian cottage. This is a place that makes you slow down.
INSIDE
The living room is the kind of room you walk into and immediately want to stay in. A big blue couch, generous lamps, and wall-to-wall windows that frame the trees all the way out to the lake — it's one of those spots where you sit down to check your phone and look up an hour later. The wood-burning fireplace anchors the whole thing, and the walls actually absorb sound in a way that surprises people. The wraparound dining booth seats all six and sets the tone for every meal.
The kitchen has a vintage 1970s stove that heats faster than anything modern we've ever kept, and we kept it because it performs. Three ways to make your favourite coffee. Everything you need, nothing you don't.
On the ground floor there's also a dedicated office — clean, bright, and spacious enough to properly set up your laptop or PC. It opens directly into the garden, so you get the quiet to focus and the light to stay human while you do it. We know not everyone fully unplugs, and this makes that okay.

OUTSIDE
The living room balcony is where no one goes to bed on time. A full conversation couch, a propane fire table, and a view straight through the trees to the lake across the road. This is where you settle in with a book in the afternoon — the cushions are deep, the light comes through the branches, and there's no reason to move. You won't.
When the sun goes down, everyone migrates to the wood fire pit. Adirondack chairs pulled in close, a proper wood fire going, and the kind of easy laughter that only happens when no one has anywhere to be. The campfire at night is where this group of yours remembers why you do this every year.
Tucked under the trees in the yard garden: a hammock. This is the nap that rewrites the whole trip. Dappled light, the sound of nothing much, and the kind of rest you forgot you needed.
Out back, the private hot tub faces the open farmer's field. Two chairs nearby, no neighbours in sight. This is where the quieter conversations happen — the ones you've been meaning to have, the ones that only surface when you're somewhere still enough to let them.
