Being a local myself, I wanted to show my 2 friends from Burlington some of the hidden gems. We started our morning in Bayfield, stopping at Cait’s Cafe for a delicious coffee. I love the vanilla flat white or iced chai latte. This was followed by a walk around the square, visiting local businesses such as Finchers and Culburts Bakery. We then walked the Menesetung Bridge, which was beautiful. It was starting to get rainy at this point, but this didn’t ruin our time. We brought our cream puffs to the beach and watched the waves from the car.
Later that day, we went to The Albion in Bayfield for dinner. My favourite dishes are the spinach dip, stir fry with coconut curry sauce, and brie and pesto chicken. We were there on Halloween weekend, so they had a fun haunted house upstairs that we explored after our meal. Since the sun was setting so early this time of the year, it was perfect timing to catch the sunset at the pier. The perfect day!!
The Arrival
The cottage was super easy to find!! It looks just like the pictures and the sign at the end of the driveway ensures that guests don’t miss the cottage. The spacious laneway makes it easy for lots of parking. Further, the steps, as well as the ramp, up to the cottage, make it accessible for all individuals.
Cozy Vibes
The cottage was filled with many blankets, games, and pillows, all a must-have for a fall getaway. This allowed us to stay comfortably and warm, truly giving it a homey feeling. Watch the Lake Huron Sunset from the comfy couch and warm fire was truly incredible We spent the Saturday evening making appetizers, playing games, and having good chats.
